Studio MWS arquitectura completed the project of the GS villa, located in a picturesque rural area near the city of Ascension, Argentina. The house was built for a family currently living in the city but who wanted to have a countryside home for weekend days, and in the future—move there permanently after retirement.
The L-shaped building of 750 square meters spreads widely among the green landscape, alternating enclosed spaces, courtyards, and glazed passages between separate areas.
One wing of the house includes the main public zones—kitchen, dining room, and living room—while the other contains four bedrooms, including the owners' large bedroom.
Enormous floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room open wide views of the scenic landscape, while other parts of the villa look out onto a courtyard enclosed by stone walls—this series of enclosed spaces was conceived as outdoor living areas. One of the surrounding trees is a unique species of algarrobo—a sacred tree of indigenous tribes—which was incorporated into the building’s composition, appearing inside a gallery.
The project uses a neutral palette of materials including stone, concrete, wood, and steel. Architects aimed to realize the idea of an 'endless timeless home' immersed in nature, with the main emphasis placed on materiality, craftsmanship, and structural ingenuity.
