Bungalow in Mexico
A bungalow with an area of 80 square meters was built in the idyllic corner of the town of Teposcolula, Mexico, known since pre-Columbian times. The architects of the studio Cadaval & Solà-Morales designed this bungalow as the first in a series of cottages that will be built in this picturesque location. Teposcolula is renowned for its unique weather conditions and the distinctive atmosphere of pre-Columbian culture.
The building is a small volume that floats above the plain, offering its inhabitants breathtaking views from a high slope. It features a concrete shell, as if cut and containing two glass volumes corresponding to the living room and bedrooms.
To strengthen the connection with the surrounding landscape, the designers equipped these two key spaces with large terraces that lead right to the edge of the natural platform on which the bungalow stands.
Externally, the cottage is painted black to minimize its visual impact on the surrounding landscape.
