Villa on the Mediterranean Coast in Spain
The El Portet Villa is located on a narrow and elongated plot in the small coastal town of Moraira, Spain. The building with a total area of 1246 square meters was designed by Ramon Esteve Estudio. The architects of the studio managed to create a universe of their own on the property, isolated from the outside world.
Smaller volumes have only one floor and contain areas serving public functions, such as the living room, dining room or kitchen, connected to the garden and pool through covered verandas. Larger prisms have two floors and house bedrooms. The space enclosed in the central volume with a double-height ceiling closes the entrance and hall. It rises above the other prisms and highlights the entrance zone, marked by a massive stone wall.
The dimensions of the house visually expand due to the addition of garden space, which serves as an ideal backdrop for the villa. Landscape design follows the same concept as the building's configuration, adhering to the elongated shape of the plot and striving to integrate architecture into the surrounding landscape as much as possible.
