When Colombian director Alejandro Landis set out to design a house for himself, he approached architecture as if making a film. The building unfolds like a sequence of scenes, where the main focus is the interplay of nature, shadows, and light.
The presence of earth tones in various shades inside the interiors, living rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean, balconies wrapping around the entire structure, each bedroom having its own access to open sky, a patio located between the villa's consoles for relaxed afternoon rest, and a wooden deck on the roof for evening stargazing—everything is designed to keep you present in the moment, here and now.
The strict reinforced concrete structure evokes a sense of strength combined with lightness and elegance. It is like a modernist ruin where contemporary urban lifestyle meets ancient rituals and wisdom.
