Oceanfront House in Chile
Project bureau Cristian Hrdalo created the perfect house on the shore of the Pacific Ocean, 150 kilometers north of Santiago in Chile. Modern, spacious, open, and yet cozy, it covers an area of 700 square meters. The residence belongs to a Swiss family with three children and fully corresponds to their lifestyle. All spaces, occupying two floors, intersect in such a way that every room offers a panoramic view of the beach.
Common areas, including the living room, kitchen, and dining room, were designed on the first level of the mansion, providing quick access to the terraces and ocean. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and family recreation room are located upstairs. The house is built from concrete using elements of natural wood and travertine. The latter helps to hide sand on the floor, which is inevitably brought into the house from the beach, a point that the residents of the residence embrace positively, as this is what life by the ocean is all about. The pool is slightly lower than the living area level to not obstruct the view.
