Vibrant New Life of a Farmhouse
This once modest farmhouse in New Jersey was rebuilt and expanded a few years ago so that all members of the large family who own the farm could live here. The estate has more than a century of history, yet owners and designer Jeffrey Billhues decided not to make the interior exclusively classic and conservative, but to add color while maintaining nobility and elegance. The result is magnificent: heavy drapes, vintage chairs and gilded mirrors placed in an unusual color-rich atmosphere: the living room, kitchen and bedroom are literally flooded with red, blue, purple and orange. Note that in the dining room there are two tables: a large one and a small one, the latter for a group of 2-3 people to comfortably dine in the dining room, and the large table is exclusively for large gatherings. However, dinner can also be enjoyed in the kitchen, with the dining table specially designed at the same height as the kitchen island so that in case of need they can be joined. The house is full of vibrant paintings and flowers, most of which come from the owner's own garden. The backyard is crowned by a silo tower with initials — Dunwalke Farm. Such is the vibrant second life of this historic farm!
