Modern Villa with Traditional Elements in Hong Kong
Located on a rocky hill with views over the South China Sea, this villa in Hong Kong impresses with its grandeur, the quality of every individual detail and the harmony of the entire project as a whole. The structure includes spacious areas with panoramic windows, which bring the beautiful landscapes literally inseparable from the interior. Dramatic views are the main asset of the villa, while wide overhangs provide protection from hot sunshine and tropical rains.
The architects of Olson Kundig Studio preferred a simple palette of natural materials, including concrete, steel, wood, limestone and glass. Luxurious gardens around the villa are natural works of art. Landscaping in the style of the finest Chinese traditions blends perfectly with modern details of the residence. Two swimming pools were designed on the villa, interesting sculptures and decorative items enhance the spaces, and one of the gallery walls was entirely painted by artist Mary Ann Peters.
