Metropole 708 is a 232-square-meter penthouse located in a new multi-unit residential building in the prestigious Washington, D.C. neighborhood, designed by Robert Gurney Architect, FAIA Architect.
Architects utilized part of the two-story space, placing the bedroom and bathroom on the upper level with access to two roof terraces. These zones are positioned away from the wall with double-height windows.
The large bedroom door opens to a view of the high-ceiling living room and beyond to the Washington Monument.
From the bedroom, a glass console platform extends into the living room space. A suspended ceiling fireplace floats freely within the room. Color-changing lights and stained glass partitions bring life to the penthouse interior.
Architects successfully created a cohesive and dynamic space that does not distract from the views of the city beyond.
