Health Resort Family Hotel Plesnik in Slovenia
Health Resort Family Hotel Plesnik in Slovenia
The family health resort hotel Plesnik, designed by ENOTA Studio, is located in the village of Solčava, Slovenia.
A large part of the ground floor space was originally occupied by a small pool directly in front of the building. In its renovated version, the pool has been partially replaced with a large jacuzzi, and part of the former pool basin facing the valley has been converted into a cozy circular relaxation area with a fireplace.
Despite natural filtration through aquatic plants, the new pool’s rectangular shape is more of a continuation of the house than an extension of the surrounding landscape. The relaxation area with a fire pit was strategically placed in the center of the water feature, forming a poetic echo between the interior relaxation zone and the fireplace. Visitors to this new wellness center become witnesses to an endless dialogue between water and fire, two fundamental natural elements that emphasize the breathtaking beauty of the nearby mountain ranges.
The entire Plesnik hotel is developed using local materials. Interior walls, curved by whimsical waves, reflect the stylistic choice of the existing structure. The open plan design softens sharp angles and visually continues the relief of the valley itself. External walls divide the space in front of the building into three sections: the sauna section, the wellness center area, and the entrance zone. The façade between these sections is fully glazed, replacing former arched windows. Wider façade openings further connect the interior spaces of the hotel with the poetic atmosphere of the surrounding environment.
