Apartment for a Family with a Child in Kyiv
In the success of the project «Postcard from Milan», designer Yuri Zimenko became convinced only after a year. Initially, the project author was worried whether the space would be comfortable for living, whether the selected style was appropriate, and whether the overall design solution was correct. After a pause and waiting for a year, it became clear that the experiment was successful, as the client has no desire to change anything.
All rooms in the apartment are united by a single flooring. The choice fell on natural parquet, which was painted in a milk color and laid in the classic «tree» pattern. At the same time, each room's floor, like brushstrokes of an artist's brush, features accent points – bright floor segments that correspond to the dominant tone of each area. In the corridor, it's red; in the bedroom – green; for the living room, orange was chosen. To enhance this artistic technique, furniture was installed on elegant legs, and to visually balance the space, it was decorated with ceramics by Ukrainian artist Lysi Padyun and paintings by Belarusian artist Rusan Vashkевич.
