Duplex in an 18th-century building in Lisbon
Studio STC - Arquitetura led by architect Samuel Torres de Carvalho worked on the Corpo Santo 6 project in Lisbon, Portugal. Access to the historical building from the 18th century is provided from two streets at different levels, which results in a height difference of up to seven meters within the interior spaces.
The original layout of the building consists of two apartments on each floor. The upper level with the attic was modified to design a duplex. In the interior of this two-level apartment, great attention was paid to details, aiming to create a warm, cozy and modern atmosphere using stone and wood. The architects expanded the living area and added a small terrace with a view of the Tagus River.
