Cozy 33 Square Meters
Cozy 33 Square Meters
Architect Boris Denisюk from buro5 designed the interior of a small apartment with a total area of 33 square meters in Moscow. The functional studio belongs to a young housewife who works as a journalist. Limited budget and time, along with the desire to use space as efficiently as possible, defined an open-plan layout. The living room, kitchen, dining area, and bedroom are combined, yet curtains allow for separating the bed hidden in a niche. A built-in wardrobe is also conveniently placed in a niche, and there is an isolated bathroom nearby.
A rail runs along the entire perimeter of the room, serving as a universal curtain rod for curtains, planters with plants, and pictures. The contrasting black color makes this functional element not only a decorative feature but also a stylish accent that highlights the proportions of the room.
The owner loves Moomin stories, so the studio features a large number of fun items themed around these tales, including a painting with characters from the book hanging above the bed. The designers decided to experiment with a Scandinavian theme in the interior, which resulted in an ascetic design with accents on natural materials. The color palette of the interior is quite restrained.
