Skyline Loft Apartment
Skyline Loft Apartment
The Skyline Loft Apartment, designed by Sergey Makhno Architects studio, presents a stylized loft version. The comfortable single-room residence belongs to a single man. Its interior is simple and honest: concrete walls, wooden floor, and brickwork in the bathroom. The overall monochrome is broken by light wood—oak parquet and wooden panels on the walls for space zoning.
The brutalist sketch in the space—open utilities. The architects did not hide the black wiring on the ceiling, but allowed it to become an accent.
The apartment is softened by cozy furniture—a reading chair in the bedroom, a sofa and chaise longue in the living room.
The loft connects various forms and colors of lighting. Black ceiling and table lamps now coexist with white soffits and blue chandeliers. Metal is the basis of the lighting fixtures, emphasizing the industrial “I” of the space. Four curved drops contrast against the rest on the headboard.
The spice of this interior is a kitchen island that replaced the traditional dining table. It’s convenient for cooking and perfect for big parties. The artificial stone countertop visually expands the space. The kitchen itself is made of black matte steel.
A mini-library is hidden in the wall—six shelves with backlighting to keep your books organized.
Elements of steel scattered throughout the interior remind of the loft’s factory origins. Retro tiles in the bathroom seem to come from early Soho photos and sing: “New York, New York.”
