Transformer Apartment on Manhattan
Architect Petr Kostyukov transformed the apartments on Manhattan, New York, by designing transformer spaces filled with hidden furniture.
To make the transformation process as simple as possible, hidden furniture was chosen. A wooden volume was installed in the center of the apartments, which accommodates a studio/sleeping room, serves as a storage system, and hides furniture items that can transform the space. Thus, the bed, table, and benches easily roll out of this box.
The narrow kitchen is located opposite the brick wall. Its wooden shelves fold down to form a breakfast table or an additional workspace. From the hallway of the entrance area, one can access the main bedroom, bathroom, or a third room.
