Studio José Andrade Rocha presented the Casa Na Mouraria project — a 64 sq. meter apartment in Lisbon, Portugal. Located in an old house in the historic district of the city, it had a poor layout with ambiguous connections between the living and sleeping zones. Architects made several changes — they moved the living room to the street side, connecting it with the kitchen, thus hiding the bedrooms and bathroom on the opposite side of the apartment where a more intimate atmosphere was created. These are concealed behind a common corridor in the form of a dark cube with sliding doors. At the same time, architects preserved and restored original elements of finishing, including cornices, skillfully combining them with modern decor.
