Favoralie House by cmDesign Atelier

cmDesign Atelier has completed the construction of the Favoralie House in Lagos, Nigeria. This beautiful modern single-family home with an area of approximately 8,500 square feet includes an indoor pool. The project resembles the Coral Pavilion project also located in Lagos.

cmDesign Atelier has completed the construction of a three-bedroom beachfront house in Ijebu, Lagos, Nigeria. Lagos is known as the most populated city in Africa with transportation management issues. Lagos is less known for its tranquil beach environment, which has become a prestigious location for private beachfront homes over the past twenty years. The only way to reach this area is by water, so the beaches on the western peninsula remain exclusive with minimal urban development and preservation of natural environment.

Our goal in the design was to create horizontal and vertical panoramas that showcase the calm and peaceful beach environment. The minimalist style draws attention to the surroundings where casuarina trees planted in the colonial zone harmonize with local palms. Bedrooms face east so all inhabitants can enjoy a magnificent African sunset and the shimmering reflection of water on the ceiling just before dusk. Steps at the edge of the pool add a playful and nostalgic childlike mood reminiscent of rural streams.

We created through architecture a family home suitable for living and entertaining in multiple spaces, where the 21-meter pool is the central element facing the Atlantic Ocean and reflecting the sky's color. White walls and ceilings contrast with coffee-colored terrace panels and granite stones used in the pool. The space between two bedrooms will be an excellent opportunity to create an artistic wall showcasing the diversity of creative talents in Lagos.
