Cang 41 by JUMGO Creative: Ski-Themed Coffee Shop and Bar in Chunli

Ski Culture Meets Architecture
After the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, skiing became popular throughout China. At the center of this revival is Chunli, a mountain city in Hebei Province known for its slopes. For ski enthusiasts, Chunli is not just a place—it's a lifestyle.
Here, a group of enthusiasts founded Cang 41, a brand and place that combines cultural coffee experience, nightlife, and ski identity within one architectural space. The project was designed by JUMGO Creative and named after Chunli's latitude (41°N), positioning itself as a 'refuge for skiers'.
Facade Like a Polar Station
The design concept is inspired by polar research stations—sturdy, vibrant, and deeply integrated into snowy landscapes.
Facade: The facade represents a 'sanctuary in snow', vividly standing out against the winter white backdrop and easily recognizable on Chunli's main street.
Atmosphere: The exterior attracts, while the interior captivates. As architects say, attraction begins from outside but deepens within.
Interior Space: From Cold Outside to Warm Inside
Stepping through the door, visitors encounter a contrasting world: cozy and vibrant interior that contrasts with the harsh winter exterior. The design embodies functional duality:
Daytime Coffee Shop: Bright and inviting, with warm tones and natural lighting.
Evening Bar: Darker and more atmospheric, crafted for intimate conversations and cocktails.
This spatial sequence guides visitors from light to shadow, changing mood and usage within compact space.
Details Define the Brand
Cang 41 is more than just an architectural effect—it's a brand experience crafted through details.
Art Installations: Independent artists created 'Seed Repository', adding rare greenery to the winter landscape and offering visual relief.
Custom Furniture: Playful and elegant items developed in-house enhance the space's identity.
Materials and Finishing: Attention to texture and tone enhances warmth and uniqueness.
This focus on detail ensures that Cang 41 won't be a passing trend but will become a lasting cultural hub, both for locals and tourists.
A New Business Model for Ski Cities
Cang 41 demonstrates how architecture and branding can unite to reinvent leisure in ski destinations. Offering a hybrid coffee shop and bar within immersive design, the project attracts diverse visitors and sustains year-round relevance.
Already popular in Chunli, the brand plans expansion with new stores under development, indicating growth from a narrow ski-focused location to a recognizable cultural network.
Sanctuary for the Ski Community
In essence, Cang 41 is more than a coffee shop or bar. It's a sanctuary for ski lovers and design enthusiasts, an ideal retreat where architecture, brand, and leisure intertwine.
Through its bold facade, carefully planned interior, and attention to detail, JUMGO Creative has created a space that establishes new identity for Chunli as China's ski capital.
