Stylish 54 m² Euroduplex Interior with Dream Kitchen and Smart Storage Solutions

In this small euroduplex, a young family lives — a blogger and opera singer Tatiana Borisova, her husband, and their poodle. For decorating the space, they turned to the design studio 'M-Bureau'. The project's foundation was the homeowner's love for color: she prefers bright yet soft pastel shades reminiscent of macaron palettes. This particularity determined the character of the interior, which Tatiana described in detail.

Search for an apartment and renovation

My parents helped me choose the apartment: my father, directly involved in construction, is well-versed in houses and their structures. As soon as we arrived at this residential complex, we were immediately charmed. At that time, the future house site was just a pit. However, the model and district project convinced us that everything should be exactly as planned. In the end, we waited for our apartment for over 2.5 years.

The apartment was delivered in concrete, so major re-planning wasn't possible. However, they did make some changes: they enlarged the corridor and rooms by adding a bathroom instead of which a walk-in closet was made in the bedroom.

About the kitchen

The kitchen features an island — a long-time dream of mine. I believe nothing is more convenient for cooking and dining, and there's storage inside the island as well. The kitchen was filled with all necessary appliances that were built into the columns. The cabinet fronts were done in a soft olive tone.

A sliding door between the kitchen and living room adds flexibility to the space: when closed, it separates the rooms, preventing sounds and odors from the kitchen entering the living room. This creates a cozy and quiet atmosphere in one part of the house while allowing culinary activities in another.

About the living room

The living room is designed simply: it includes a sofa, bookshelves and cabinets, and my musical instrument. Her husband's favorite spot is the sofa with a TV. The sofa is made of wicker and is retractable, allowing guests to stay overnight.

Interestingly, before moving in, her husband rarely watched TV. Now, he has the opportunity to enjoy movies in a comfortable home setting. One reason for this newfound interest may be the Yandex TV Station Basic QLED — an AI television with Alice, making everything simple.

About the bedroom

The bedroom is decorated with elegant moldings that bring classical touches. Like the ceiling molding, adding a note of sophistication. We painted the ceiling cornices to match the walls, visually raising the ceiling and adding lightness to the room.

The wavy headboard, decorated with soft upholstery and a stylish trim, became a bright accent in the interior and draws attention. We matched the chandelier and textiles to it.

The bedroom has a separate walk-in closet, with an arched entrance. For the closet itself, I chose red color. The interior was custom-made from MDF and also painted in red. The closet features various storage options and ambient lighting that softly illuminates everything inside the wardrobes.

About the entrance hall

The entrance hall features three storage cabinets. Two of them are for winter clothes, and there are shoe cubbies with soft-close mechanisms for countless pairs of our shoes — we're shoe enthusiasts. The third cabinet houses the washing machine and cleaning supplies.

About the bathroom

The bathroom is another highlight of the apartment: the shower walls are decorated with white tiles featuring mermaid fish designs, and other walls were painted deep blue. The luxury was added using brass fixtures and a bowl-shaped sink. By the way, this ceramic sink was custom-made by an artist from the Moscow region.

In conclusion

The renovation lasted almost two years. We started in summer 2023 with the plan to finish by New Year, but it took longer. Workers often changed due to issues and even had to redo the tiles three times. The most difficult part was installing the sliding door: it took half a year to make, and craftsmen came dozens of times but couldn't figure out the mechanism.

Despite all jokes about the 'cursed' apartment, we made it through. By December 2024, the renovation was completed, and furniture assembly began. Finally, in March 2025, we were able to move in. The walk-in closet installation was finished by the anniversary of the renovation start.
