5 relevant solutions we noticed in a designer's project
Get inspired and adopt the ideas you like!
The designers from Bilbao Design Studio created a vibrant and functional interior in a new building. The apartment is full of color and beautiful decorative solutions. They collected interesting ideas from the project that definitely deserve your attention.
Contrast color schemeThe main feature of the project was a contrast color scheme of cool turquoise and warm peach. The soft peach tone harmoniously complements the kitchen and bathroom. It enhances the feeling of warmth, visually expands the space, and creates a light and calming atmosphere. Turquoise, on the other hand, belongs to the cool part of the spectrum. In the living room, this color smoothly transitions from the walls to the ceiling and then to the sofa upholstery. Using contrasting shades in one space creates a dynamic and energetic effect.
Stylish modern kitchenThe corner kitchen cabinet was placed near the window. The furniture was coordinated in color with the ceiling, completing the composition and visually dividing the space zone. The cabinet was custom-made to fit the room dimensions and the client's needs. They opted out of upper shelves, only including small cupboards above the sink for drying dishes. The matte finish of the cabinet doors with a special textured additive makes the kitchen more practical and durable. The absence of visible hardware creates a sense of lightness and airiness. All major appliances are built-in into tall panels.

Sliding glass partition
One of the requirements from the clients was to separate the living room from the kitchen to prevent odors from spreading. Therefore, a sliding glass partition was installed. It does not deprive the room of air and volume but still creates an illusion of proper zoning. The sliding design allows for flexible space transformation depending on the situation.
Combination of different texturesTo add volume to the interior and maintain a sense of lightness, it's enough to use unusual shapes and diverse textures. The matte textured paint on the walls, the smooth surface of an original cabinet, the upholstery made from jute, and textured textiles create a cozy and harmonious atmosphere in a monochrome bedroom. When combining textures, it's important to follow the principle of contrast: smooth surfaces highlight roughness, and hard elements coexist with soft ones.
Transitioning interiorThe floor in the entrance hall was tiled with terrazzo-patterned tiles. This is both a beautiful and functional solution—such tiles mask dirt, making dust, particles, and smudges almost invisible. Ceramic granite softly transitions onto the wall where hooks for clothes were placed. Colorful inclusions echo the main colors of the interior, giving it a sense of unity and making the entrance hall design interesting and expressive.
