7 Cool Ideas for Scandi-Style Interior
We tell you how to create an interior that won't be banal
This two-room apartment in Minsk is an example of traditional Scandinavian design: architect Eugenia Lykasova decorated the interior in light tones, added simple wooden furniture and arranged a lounge area on the balcony with a view of the river. We gathered the most impressive ideas in this post to make your interior more interesting and impactful.
Enlarge the Window
The window between the living room and the balcony was enlarged by lowering the sill level. You could say it killed two birds with one stone: more light now enters the room, plus there's space to sit on the sill.

Experiment with Wall Finishing
Painting the walls is the simplest option. Part of the surfaces in this apartment were painted, while others were decorated with red and white bricklaying and aged planks. The variety of textures instantly refreshed the atmosphere.

Replace Solid Wall with Glass Partition
During the renovation, they removed a wall between the kitchen and living room — instead, a partition with glass "windows" was designed, which let in light. This trick added more light and air to both the kitchen and the living room.

Create a Workspace from the Countertop
There's no need for a separate room or much furniture for a home mini-office. Here, only shelves and a countertop were used, which was mounted on the wall. "All items had to be simple and unpretentious, symbolizing comfort and unity with nature. No overly curved lines, no chrome metal," says the designer.

Paint an Accent Wall
For the interior, they chose warm beige tones close to white. To emphasize the whiteness and add depth to the space, they introduced a violet color.

Build a Closet with Wooden Slats
Another way to make the interior visually lighter is to design a closet not with concrete blocks or gypsum board, but using wooden slatted partitions. Besides looking stylish, they save space and are easy to dismantle. These partitions also save more space than traditional construction ones.

Use Planks in Furniture Making
The headboard of the bed was made from aged planks — it became a shelf for storing decor and books. A cheap yet effective solution.
