Beautiful Combined Bathroom 9 sqm, Still Divided by Load-Bearing Wall
Very unusual layout of a bathroom in a Stalin-era apartment
We already told about the wonderful interior, details of which Alena and her husband planned themselves, many works were also done by their own hands. Today we will tell more about a stylish bathroom with an unusual layout.
About the Start of the RepairWe started the renovation by collecting references and a plan for future demolition. Ideas and inspiration were mainly taken from Pinterest, films, and series. The understanding was completely accurate and clear. I had no doubts about color choices or individual elements; rather, the task was to find everything cheaply.

About the LayoutThe area of our bathroom is 9 sqm. I have always dreamed of a large bathroom, and I just don't like small rooms. I remember there was a moment when I realized that the partition between the bathroom and toilet couldn't be removed. However, I am now extremely happy with the resulting layout. The toilet and laundry are separated by partitions.
While washing and taking a bath, you find yourself in a room where there is no view of the washing machine or toilet. Instead, there are live flowers in a vase and planters, paintings, crystal, pink velvet, and candles.
Layout After RenovationAbout the PartitionBehind the gypsum board partition, a laundry column is built: a washing machine, and above it, a dryer – someday. Temporarily, shelves for dirty and clean laundry will be placed above the washing machine.
In the niche, we cut shelves for cleaning and cosmetic products. This looks very nice, does not clutter the space, and is practical to use. I don't like when cosmetic products are visible in the bathroom.

Where We Saved MoneyFriends think I'm an ambassador for "Avito": many interior items I buy there. I really love Soviet vintage, furniture made from solid wood, and things with a history. A century-old mirror, Czech crystal chandeliers, a 19th-century chest of drawers, a Romanian cabinet, an antique folding table, sideboards, wardrobes, chairs, and more.
Building materials were mostly bought at "Leroy Merlin." The main kitchen was ordered modular from a small local company. The upper cabinets were bought on sale at "Leroy Merlin." I love IKEA, especially the discount section. They have the lowest prices on some items: for example, we bought a beautiful sink for the bathroom for just 1000 rubles, while similar ones cost from 4000 rubles in other stores.
