Swedish design in our homes

Items from IKEA often appear in designers' projects, and the choice doesn't always fall on the kitchen. Today we've gathered the most interesting integrations of Swedish furniture in our Russian apartments.

1. Armchair with Headrest

In the interior of her living room, Irina Orlova made adjustments to the design project and decided to experiment with color. The starting point were cheerful paintings, to which she matched the sofa, curtains, and armchair. Just look how perfectly the STRANDMON armchair fit into the bright living room interior.Design: Irina OrlovaDesign: Irina Orlova

2. Coffee Table and Rug

In the design project of a two-room apartment, designer Tatiana Maslenkova initially planned to use custom furniture from manufacturers to stay within budget. Here, IKEA furniture was organically integrated: a coffee table with storage compartment KVISSBRU and a wool-free rug MURUM.

3. Floor Lamp

The concept of this studio in St. Petersburg implies a balanced asceticism, with emphasis on geometry and clean lines. Hence, the designers at Kidz Design integrated a floor lamp from the YPPERLIG collection. The minimalist and strict lamp met all criteria perfectly.Design: Kidz Design StudioDesign: Kidz Design Studio

4. Dresser, Sideboards, Bed

In the bedroom interior, architect-designer Anna Kashentseva placed the HEMNES dresser and IKEA sideboards in her client's bedroom. To make them look more harmonious, she painted them by hand to give the furniture a handmade appearance.Design: Anna KashentsevaDesign: Anna Kashentseva Design: Anna KashentsevaDesign: Anna Kashentseva

In the children's room, Anna placed the HEMNES sofa bed, which she painted in the color of the walls to make it look less bulky.Design: Anna KashentsevaDesign: Anna Kashentseva

5. Shelf

In the interior of this country house, IKEA furniture and textiles were used predominantly. A very functional solution was the BILLY shelf, which designers from On_design_lab placed in the bathroom.

In the living area, wall sconces HÄKTAR were slightly modified to look more harmonious in the Provence style. The white coffee table, by the way, is also from IKEA.Design: On_design_labDesign: On_design_lab
