Simple tips worth adopting

According to statistics, in 1990 Sweden's population was 8,590,630 people, and by 2021 it had increased by approximately two million to 10,385,347 people. However, this virtually had no impact on electricity consumption, which actually became slightly lower than in 1990. How do Swedes manage to save on electricity, or do they practically not use electrical appliances at all? The answer lies in reasonable electricity consumption and alternative sources of energy generation by advanced countries. By the way, some of these tips are included in the list of measures to improve energy efficiency by the Swedish Energy Agency:
  1. Switch from incandescent bulbs to LED lights and low-energy bulbs.
  2. Develop a habit of turning off the lights when they are not needed.
  3. Always unplug chargers from sockets if you're not using them.
  4. You can cut electricity consumption by almost half if you reduce the washing temperature from 60 to 40 degrees. The quality of the wash will be hardly affected, but the savings are evident.
  5. Set the refrigerator and freezer temperatures correctly: +4°C and -18°C. This is the ideal combination for good food storage and low energy consumption.
  6. Fill the washing machine and dishwasher to maximum capacity. In this way, energy consumption is saved and water usage reduced.
