7 Stories of When Celebrities Sold Homes to Each Other
Who among you wouldn't want to live in a star's house — an actor, musician, or model?
Stars of show business often buy and sell real estate — with their royalties, it's no problem. At the same time, luxurious mansions often stay within the 'circle' of their peers, passing from one celebrity to another. Buying a star's house without the right connections is no easy task, not only because of astronomical prices but also because celebrities don't like selling property outside the market.
Selena Gomez and French Montana
Selena Gomez bought her house in Calabasas, California in 2015 to be closer to her boyfriend Justin Bieber. However, she listed the property for sale just six months later — the reason was a break-in by one of Selena's fans. Since then, the singer couldn't feel safe and decided to get rid of this 'unlucky' real estate.
The six-bedroom, seven-bathroom, wine cellar, spa, gym, home theater, large pool, and stone outdoor kitchen on the property were purchased by rapper French Montana for $3.3 million, although originally Selena had planned to sell it for $4.5 million. The rapper enhanced the luxurious Mediterranean interior by adding a recording studio and changing the wall colors to more neutral tones. Apparently, the house already bored Montan a bit — recently the artist listed the property for $6.6 million.

John Travolta and Scooter Braun
In 2019, John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston parted ways with their Spanish-style mansion in Los Angeles, which they had owned for over 20 years. The new owner was their neighbor and talent manager Scooter Braun — among his clients are stars like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Hilary Duff, and Kanye West.
Scooter's new residence, located in a prestigious district of the city, spans an impressive 9.5 square kilometers. On this land, in addition to a two-story mansion with ten bedrooms and ten bathrooms, office, and gym, there is a tennis court, a pool with a waterfall and adjacent spa, several dining patios, and even a treehouse. All this wealth was purchased by Scooter for $18 million — a solid difference compared to the $3.7 million they paid for the house in 1997.

Robbie Williams and DJ Khaled
In 2017, Robbie Williams decided to part ways with his Beverly Hills mansion. The buyer didn't keep him waiting — it was the hip-hop artist, beatmaker, and producer DJ Khaled, who bought the luxurious residence for $9.9 million.
The two-story mansion in French Norman style was built in 1992 and fully renovated by Williams. On 1000 square meters, seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, a spa zone, a recording studio, a gym, a professional kitchen, a living room with a mirror wall, an office, and a luxurious hall were arranged. From the windows open picturesque views of the mountains, and on the adjacent property are a barbecue area, fireplace, and a waterfall pool. It seems this place was created for grand parties, which DJ Khaled loves so much.

Jeff Bridges and Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Winfrey decided to expand her holdings in Montecito — one of the most prestigious districts located in Santa Barbara. To this end, she bought the house of her neighbor — actor and star of the movie "Nothing Good Happens at the Hotel El Royale" Jeff Bridges — for $6.85 million.
The Spanish revival-style mansion with a spacious area was built in 1919 by architect James Osborne Craig. The house underwent extensive restoration and modernization but retained its original windows, doors, parquet floors, and five fireplaces. Inside, there are three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room, and a modern kitchen with quartz countertops. If the TV star continues to buy neighbors' real estate, Montecito will soon be renamed "Opry's Village".

Alexander Skarsgard, Rooney Mara and Kelly Osbourne
The hillside house, previously owned by actor Alexander Skarsgard, already had a whole lineage of star owners. In 2015, it was bought by Rooney Mara for $2.9 million, and two years later, the new owner of the residence became Kelly Osbourne, who paid $3.57 million for the property.
Rooney Mara preferred to turn the 2,500 square meter house into a fashionable bungalow with minimalist furniture and eclectic accessories. As a result, it turned out very cozy: two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a sunny kitchen, and a terrace with a fantastic view of Los Angeles were at the disposal of the hosts.

Charlie Sheen and Kendall Jenner
The cottage estate Malhollands-Estates, located not far from Beverly Hills, have long been favored by celebrities. In 2017, supermodel Kendall Jenner joined them by buying one of Charlie Sheen's houses. The new home cost the star $8.55 million.
Jenner decided to preserve the charming external appearance of the Spanish-style mansion built in 1991 but slightly reimagined its interior, adding modernity and minimalism. The house can boast a huge kitchen, a living room with a massive fireplace and columns, a home cinema, and cozy bedrooms perfect for hosting the Kardashian family. The greenery-covered area includes a pool, fountain, tennis court, patio, barbecue zone, and even a kids' playground.

Adam Levine and Ellen DeGeneres
American actress, comedian, and TV host Ellen DeGeneres is a big fan of buying real estate. One of her recent acquisitions was Adam Levine's house.
The magnificent three-story mansion in Tudor style located in Beverly Hills was purchased from the frontman of the band Maroon 5 for $45 million. The Levins had previously bought a house for $33.9 million, after which he spent about $7 million on its modernization. The result was five luxurious bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a living room with a marble fireplace and grand TV panel, an office, a professional kitchen, and a spacious dining room in refined English style. In the green courtyard are a dining area with a wood-burning stove, an oval pool, and a tennis court.
