Glass Ceilings – Uniquely Stylish and Practical
Matte glass ceiling
Like other glass ceilings, a matte glass ceiling typically features a suspended Armstrong-type system filled with glass tiles. The advantage lies in concealing major flaws in the original ceiling while creating the illusion of infinite ceiling space and continuity.
Light from fixtures installed behind the matte glass diffuses softly, adding a special sense of coziness to the room. A matte glass ceiling is ideal for bedrooms – it won’t disrupt privacy or cause distracting reflections. Colorful matte glass tiles can beautifully decorate a child’s room.

From mirrors
A mirror ceiling is a perfect choice for low or small rooms. Of course, installation requires an extra few centimeters of clearance, but sacrificing them brings a much greater sense of reflection and space.
Especially striking when combined with metallic and crystal elements in chandeliers and lighting fixtures. While matte glass offers a more tranquil look, mirror glass provides a festive, elegant atmosphere. Mirrors are made from standard glass and acrylic glass.
Glass mirrors are undoubtedly a beautiful option, but they come with two major drawbacks: weight and cost. The heavy nature of mirrors requires additional reinforcement of the framework, and due to their high price, full ceiling glazing is sometimes not cost-effective.
Acrylic mirrors are often used, offering both lower weight and lower cost.
The beauty of installing such ceilings is that they can be done DIY. Mirror ceilings look best in living rooms or entryways.

Stained glass ceilings
A stained glass ceiling is one of the most refined and elegant ceiling finishes. Depending on the technique used, stained glass can be outlined, filled-in, sandblasted, or printed with photos. Stained glass complements matte glass, mirrors, and other decorative materials perfectly.
Stained glass rosettes and inserts add a touch of understated elegance to any interior. Especially popular are Tiffany-style stained glass pieces, reminiscent of the early 20th century – the golden age of Art Deco. Stained glass is an excellent decoration for any room, particularly bathrooms, kitchens, or living rooms.
The safety, hygiene, and aesthetic value of glass ceilings are truly priceless – both literally and figuratively. Glass ceilings, priced differently depending on type, are not an inexpensive luxury.
For example, a matte glass ceiling starts from 1,800 rubles per square meter, not including labor costs.

Glass-fiber cloth on ceiling
Besides direct use of glass in ceiling finishing, indirect applications also exist. For example, fiberglass-based materials like glass-fiber cloth are used for leveling walls and ceilings. Applied to the ceiling, this material strengthens the surface, reinforces joints between slabs, prepares for further decorative finishing, and prevents cracks.
Application of glass-fiber cloth – thin, semi-transparent sheets resembling wallpaper made from pressed fiberglass – is completely safe for human health. Installation is similar to hanging glass-fiber wallpapers: using adhesive designed for the material.
Adhesive is applied thinly to the wall, the glass-fiber cloth is placed on it, smoothed evenly, and then covered with another layer of adhesive. Excess adhesive is removed with a trowel.
