How to Utilize Valuable Space on the Kitchen

When planning your kitchen, choose a corner mechanism right away — it determines the functionality of your kitchen. The corner will consume all unnecessary utensils and free up precious "air" space.

When planning a new kitchen, we mostly think about major elements: kitchen units, tiles, appliances, and extractor hoods. But we forget about small things that will get in our way for life: bulky pots, powdery products, endless spice jars, and bottles of oil.

To make use of every centimeter of precious space on the kitchen, carefully plan the contents of your kitchen cabinets even at the design stage of your future kitchen unit. Numerous sorters and kitchen accessories will help you. Also, don't forget to plan the most underestimated space in the kitchen — its corner. We've gathered valuable tips from designer Anastasia Ramazanova and now know how to use the space with maximum benefit.

Anastasia Ramazanova creates design projects remotely and in person, and runs a blog where she shares useful and practical tips.

Simple Shelves

The cheapest and simplest option. However, it is not the most ergonomic: part of the module becomes a "dead zone" and is not used properly.

"Magical Corner"

It can be with a grid: convenient for storing pots, pans, and other bulky items. Drawback: it's hard to retrieve lids from the depths of the corner.

Le Mans

Each shelf in this construction can be extended individually from the cabinet. By the way, such a mechanism is convenient to hide not only in the lower corner module but also on the upper shelf. You can hide small items there: tea, coffee, spices, and more.

Twin Corner

Both shelves in the lower module extend simultaneously. Note the edges of the mechanism — they can be different!

Carousel

Carousels come in various types: with a cutout or fully round (slightly less convenient), on an axis (cheaper), and without an axis (more expensive but makes the cabinet even more spacious).

Sorter

An excellent solution for storing waste and household items. There are various designs and layouts. Google "rational Lemi corner".

Corner Drawers

This is not a gimmick from Instagram influencers! This is a real alternative to a regular corner cabinet. These are called Space Corner drawers with full extension.
