We've gathered several designer projects in one collection where almost all furniture and decor were purchased from the Swedish furniture giant

It's possible to decorate an apartment stylishly and comfortably without choosing interior items from countless design catalogs. IKEA's advantage is that you can find everything in their stores: from a cable organizer to a complete kitchen cabinet with built-in appliances. Russian designers often use this brand, especially when the project budget is limited.

2-room apartment with a mix of Soviet and IKEA furniture

Designer Maria Mikene managed to preserve the Scandinavian spirit in the interior, keeping the grandmother's 'legacy' in her client's apartment. 'I wanted to create a modern and vibrant interior and incorporate some furniture from my grandmother's collection,' explains the designer. 'The mid-century style worked perfectly, as Soviet furniture is actually part of that era.'

In the living room, a portion of the polished shelving unit, vintage buffet, and modern IKEA sofa blend beautifully. In the bedroom, a bed and wardrobe from the Swedish brand were placed.

Nordic 2-room apartment in St. Petersburg

Customers asked designer Natalia Khudaya to create a subtle and calm interior. A neutral color palette was chosen: gray concrete and accent walls in the color of the northern sea.

Most of the furniture was found at IKEA: kitchen cabinets, shelves, sideboards, textiles. These were chosen in advance and taken into account during the design process. For example, the wardrobe in the bedroom was built with consideration for the dimensions of the PAX storage systems.

Comfortable interior with a modern blue color

The client of this project is a student who received the 2-room apartment without finishing. The budget was very limited, so it was necessary to avoid re-planning and find ways to save money. The decision was made to create a vibrant interior in the color-block technique and furnish it with affordable items.

'The project predominantly features minimalist IKEA furniture: recognizable wardrobes and walk-in closets, sofa, desks, lighting, and decor. What is its advantage? Not only in cost but also in the harmony between items,' comments designer Ekaterina Savenko from 'Interior Architecture' studio.

Cozy apartment in Veliky Novgorod

This project was designed by Irina Petrova and Olga Vasileva under budget constraints: 1.5 million rubles for the renovation of a 60 sq. m. 2-room apartment. The client bought the apartment for herself and her young daughter, so the interior had to be as warm and cozy as possible, not cold and minimalist. The designers focused on affordable finishing, accent textiles, and IKEA furniture.

For the kitchen, they selected a cabinet with white fronts. The hallway was perfectly suited for a coat rack and sideboard. A desk was found in the bedroom. All of the listed furniture is from IKEA. It turned out to be bright, cozy, convenient, and relatively budget-friendly.

Bright studio in Kotelniki

They decided to zone the small studio with wooden partitions made from timber. This allowed them to eliminate the feeling of an overly open space and make it more intimate, while still keeping the interior airy.

Only a few items of interior decoration in this apartment were custom-made based on the designer's sketches. The majority of furniture was purchased at IKEA. 'It's convenient that you can make a list and buy everything in one go. Moreover, the items complement each other beautifully; for example, a white dining table and black wooden chairs look stylish and harmonious,' explain designers from 'Forma Domа' studio.

Small 2-room apartment in Almaty

The owners of this apartment are big fans of the Swedish brand, so they even ordered taps from IKEA. However, it was necessary to transport all the purchased furniture from Russia to Kazakhstan. In the small space, two bedrooms and a common area for the whole family had to be arranged.

'We found a solution thanks to the balcony, which was insulated and connected to the kitchen after legalizing the re-planning,' the designers from 'Malitsky Studio' explain. 'This allowed not only to place a spacious cabinet but also to set up a dining area with a sofa. The family can gather here for dinner and spend evenings together.'
