We looked at ideas for decorating a student's apartment in projects. It turns out that even on 18 square meters, you can find space for everything you need.

In celebration of the new academic year, we created an unusual selection of interiors. All these apartments were decorated for students, so the focus was on storage systems and workspace setup. Take a look at what came out of it.

One-Room Apartment in St. Petersburg

This apartment is home to a young musician, so designer Julia Kaufeldt had to find space for both a workspace and storage for musical instruments. A masculine interior in modern style was brightened up with vibrant furniture and decor — it turned out cozy.

One of the bathrooms was sacrificed for a walk-in closet, so storage wasn't an issue. The workspace was placed by the window in the bedroom — no one will disturb studies here.

Compact Apartment with Kitchen Hidden in a Cabinet

To add more air to the space, designer Andrey Barinov slightly shifted the walls and connected the balcony. Almost all furniture was custom-made: to save space, the kitchen block was hidden behind doors painted to match the walls.

The bar table or balcony can be used as a workspace. For clothing storage, there is a large built-in wardrobe along the entrance hall and part of the living room.

Small Studio Apartment

Architect Anna Novopol'tseva faced a challenging task: to design a 18 square meter apartment. The small space was divided into several parts: the kitchen area was placed in the center, and sleeping quarters were arranged near the window.

There wasn't enough room for a full-size bed — it slides out from under the platform. To prevent the space from feeling cramped, a simple finish and furniture with a minimalist design were chosen.

Apartment for Work and Relaxation

For a young student who studies a lot, designer Maria Bezrukov decorated a bright apartment with vibrant accents. One large room was divided into two: bedroom and living room. To let in light, glass windows were built into the partition.

There are many storage systems in the apartment: a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe in the entrance niche, wardrobes in the bedroom. Near the workspace, a shelf and a niche with shelves for textbooks and electronics were placed.

Studio in Scandinavian Style

Designer Darya Pak decorated this apartment for rent — presumably, a student will live here (the apartment is located near Moscow State University). A small reconfiguration was made: the closet and bathroom were enlarged at the expense of the corridor, and the balcony was insulated. The finish was chosen as neutral as possible.

Storage systems were provided for items: two wardrobes for clothes and shelves in the living room, as well as a cabinet for household items in the bathroom.
