Storing clothes in an apartment is an eternal problem. It doesn't matter how many square meters you have: any interior can quickly become cluttered. Designer Darya PikoVA shared tips on how to organize storage properly.

If you have the opportunity, create a walk-in closet

In any apartment, it's important to set aside as much space as possible for storing things, otherwise even the most beautiful interior can quickly become cluttered. When possible, I create walk-in closets rather than regular wardrobes: they visually lighten the interior and make life easier. However, this isn't always feasible due to space limitations.

Storage under the bed

A platform bed with spacious sliding drawers underneath is a convenient storage solution in small apartments. The headboard can also be used as an additional shelf for items.

Wardrobe at the entrance

If you value open space and dislike unnecessary details, a closed wardrobe in the hallway is an ideal solution. You can store coats, bags, umbrellas, shoes, and accessories there.

Use open storage systems if you have no other exit

These require caution and should not be overdone, otherwise the home will always look disorganized. Hooks and hangers in the hallway are acceptable if you understand why you need them.

For example, recently I had a project for a family with three children. It was clear that the kids wouldn't put clothes in the wardrobe upon entering, so hooks were just right.

Wardrobes in the headboard area

Spacious wardrobes around the bed's headboard are a good storage option in bedrooms where there is no room for a wardrobe or walk-in closet. It's better to choose light-colored wardrobes to keep the space feeling more airy.

Place a clothing rack

If there's not enough space for clothes, you can place an attractive rack or rail. Or even a stylish designer piece that can hold clothing (e.g., a stylized mannequin).

However, such items look stylish on Pinterest, but in reality it's not that simple. For a photo, a stylist carefully selects clothes by shape and color to make them blend together rather than just throwing on whatever is photographed.
