It's not too late: what can you plant in the garden in July
According to experts, it's time to pay attention to garden plants in pots with closed root systems. It is important to choose the right fertilizer and not forget about abundant watering to help plants survive the heat. The team at Derevo Park explains what you can plant right now.
Roses
In July roses are already blooming, and there is no risk of overexposure. Strong and well-established ones will adapt well in their new location if you prepare the planting hole in advance and take proper care of them.
Perfect combination for a flower bed: roses + aromatic herbs (sage, catnip, lavender), which can also be planted in July. Such a flower bed looks strikingly beautiful, and the scent of aromatic herbs repels pests from roses.
To fill in the lower layer until the flower bed expands, you can plant cosmos seeds: they germinate quickly and bloom beautifully, and will also look harmoniously.

Gravelats, astilbes, and irises
Play with color schemes by choosing the shades you like based on already blooming buds: if you plant these plants in spring, you might make a color choice mistake.
Beautiful together are Siberian iris and lemon lily.

Japanese Spiraea
Among the most low-maintenance and long-flowering plants. They come in various shades: from pure white and soft pink (Alpina, Little Princess) to rich burgundy (Darts Red).
Interesting effects can be achieved by sorting and planting plants in color waves.

Astilbe varieties
A low-maintenance and eye-catching perennial that looks great even after flowering.
There are over a hundred varieties of this plant. If it's important to select plants in a particular color palette, it's better to plant them in summer during blooming rather than buy 'a cat in a bag'.
Astilbe is a good companion for roses. It shades the lower part of the bush and helps retain moisture.

Conifers and others
You can plant almost any conifer variety with a closed root system (i.e., those sold in pots) on your plot (plants that are planted directly into the ground should not be planted at this time).
But you can do it if you have prepared the planting area, proper fertilization, and shade (if you plan to plant in full sun).

As for vegetable crops: you won't be able to harvest a bountiful radish crop now, but it's better to focus on various types of lettuce and aromatic herbs.
