Designers moved away from traditional cold minimalism and added details in the spirit of cottagecore to the interior. Now the apartment resembles a bright countryside cottage

This two-level apartment is located in a historic house built in 1918. Designers decided to preserve the historical elegance of the architecture but achieve this using modern means: there is no antique furniture or radical Scandinavian minimalism here.

The apartment turned out to be bright, cozy, adapted for living and hosting guests. Externally it resembles a countryside cottage in the cottagecore style. The kitchen-dining room with access to the terrace and bedroom are located on the first floor. On the second floor – the living room with a balcony.

That it is a historical building is reminded by the old wood-burning stove. It was restored and is still in use. The firewood is stored under the staircase, which adds even more coziness to the atmosphere.

The cottagecore style is formed by natural materials. There are many elements made of wood in the interior: from solid beams and oak steps to light tables and rattan lamps. And when there are so many plants in the interior, it seems like outside the window is not a residential yard but a green forest.

The atmosphere in the apartment is very welcoming. The kitchen on the first level was made spacious, with a large dining table in the center. Above it, a massive woven chandelier was hung. It does not weigh down the interior but rather attracts attention to itself.

Evening becomes a focal point of attraction, and after dinner some guests may find a quiet spot on the terrace.

The bedroom has a romantic mood: it is created by soft tones, floral prints and an open wardrobe with clothes.

Again, fresh flowers. Such a simple and effective way to add rural romance to the setting of a small Scandinavian apartment.
