Three-Level Apartment with Attic and Fireplace
Future owners of this apartment in Stockholm have all the conditions to establish their own family nest here. The house is quite old, built in the 19th century. The living room, kitchen, and three bedrooms are spread across three levels, there are two balconies one above the other, a working fireplace, and a private attic. No country house is needed.

A successful layout is slightly marred by a complex and sometimes inconvenient layout typical for multi-level apartments in old buildings. However, designers from the real estate agency Eric Olsson attempted to use these awkward spots as strengths.

In the master bedroom, the shallow niche near the headboard was painted gold — highlighting the wall geometry and giving the room rhythm. In perspective, the niche can be closed off with a built-in cabinet or shelving, or left as is and repainted or redecorated later.

In the attic bedroom, a workspace was arranged, and probably over time the room will be converted into a full-fledged office. There is no better place for work at home than here: the large window above provides plenty of daylight, optimal for working spaces.

On the kitchen, a niche in one of the walls was turned into a seating area — an dining table was organized around it, complemented with soft cushions, like in a café.
Nothing was invented for the living room: it is the only room with proper proportions. The walls were painted a deep blue color, complemented with neutral furniture and brightened up with gold and brass accents for expressiveness.

Besides numerous niches and slanted walls, the apartment is full of small windows, protrusions, and beams. But the designers decided not to touch them and simply decorated them with flowers and accessories. This approach gave the space a special charm.
