How a Swedish Decorator Decorated Her Home for New Year
Adopting the holiday interior design recipe from Swedish decorator Karolin Birgit is worth it at least for her profession: the girl is the owner of her own online store selling home textiles and decor in an authentic Nordic style.

Items from Karolin's store are first sent to her home in a provincial Swedish town called Vargarda and photographed: products against an attractive interior sell better. Sometimes the frame includes Karolin's little son, a dog, and a cat – but it makes it even more interesting.

At the same time, her house is typical for Sweden: light and spacious rooms, wooden floors, wainscoting in the finish, wallpapers with William Morris prints on the walls. But thanks to elegant home decor that Karolin not only sells but truly loves, she managed to turn her house into a guide for restrained and cozy Scandinavian interiors.

Decorating her home for the holidays, Karolin paid a lot of attention to live greenery and wove many minimalist Christmas wreaths. Wreaths can be used not only on the front door: the decorator placed them on the floor, hung them on windows, the wall by the staircase, and shelves of a bookcase.

A few sprigs of fir branches Karolin scattered on the range hood and added to New Year compositions, mixed with cotton and covered with transparent glasses – what else could be a quick holiday decor for the dining table?

Even though the holiday interior looks modest, there is a lot of decor: several Christmas trees were placed in one go.

One large tree and many small ones – in pots, buckets, and even vases – were decorated with ornaments, candles, and garlands from Karolin’s store. Minimalist, “Northern” solutions can also look festive – especially if you choose them with heart.
