How to Dust Your Interior: 12 Useful Life Hacks
Imagine you are looking at the photos "before and after" that are so loved by professional interior designers: here is your apartment before the changes, and here is the result after. A stunning outcome! It's hard to believe but sometimes achieving such an effect does not require major rearrangements. A little wall restoration, changing a rug, adding several original details - and voilà! You easily update the interior, tidy up, and your living space now looks completely different.
1. Free Vertical Space
Not only scattered items on the floor or endless stacks of books and magazines look untidy. Cluttering a magnetic board or refrigerator with notes and pictures is the answer to what's wrong with your kitchen. Place children's drawings in frames and hang them on the wall, remove old reminders - in general, clear vertical space as often as possible.

2. Everything Smooth
Take a good look at plastered walls: are there any scratches or other minor damages? On the problematic area, scrape off all the plaster down to bare wall, then apply a new layer and smooth it out. A mixture of lime and soap or milk can help remove stains from walls.

3. Bright Evenings
This obvious tip is often neglected by many, unfortunately. Yet it's precisely burnt-out bulbs that make the atmosphere of your home less cozy and sometimes even creepy. Replace old dim bulbs with soft white ones, because good lighting makes every detail in the room look completely different.

4. Important Details
Baseboards, window sills, cornices, and curtains - we pay so little attention to these details, yet imperfect condition of these elements can ruin the appearance of even the perfect room. Periodically wipe all these elements with a damp cloth, and everything will be fine.
5. Hospitality Rules
The mat by the front door immediately forms an impression of the apartment you're entering. Agree, a dirty and stained "Welcome!" sign won't look welcoming. So don’t forget to change the mat from time to time, and also clean it with shampoo or dry powder. By the way, rubber door mats are the most practical.

6. On/Off
Worn and faded light switches are big enemies of your walls. Don't be stingy and replace them if wiping with a damp cloth no longer helps. You can also remove the covers (if they are not enamel-coated) and wash them in a dishwasher.
7. A Glance Down
Pay attention to rugs and carpets: it's not necessary to call professionals to refresh them. A time-tested grandmother's method: sprinkle the carpet with salt, brush it with a brush, sweep it with a broom soaked in warm water, and vacuum thoroughly. You can also try refreshing the color: mix a tablespoon of salt with two teaspoons of lemon acid in a liter of water, apply to the carpet with a brush.

8. Bright Spots
Heavy furniture in dark colors can literally drain light from the room, creating a suffocating atmosphere. There is a simple solution: cushions! Their bright colors and varied patterns and textures will create the necessary accents and bring a positive mood.
9. Desk Variations
A couple of worn-out magazines and a TV remote, agree, are not the best decoration for a coffee table. Place a decorative vase on it to store everything needed (the same remote that should always be within reach), and then it all depends on your imagination: plants, accessories, candles, photo frames - there are many options for decorating.

10. Organized Gallery
Dozens of pictures and photos hung on the walls (and in a random order) seem to say: we've been living here for ages. That's not the best statement. Don't try to fill every centimeter of space. On the contrary, in a corridor hang artwork only on one side of the wall (this is an excellent visual expansion technique), and in the room always leave some space for eye rest - a free wall.
11. Tidy Windows
Even if you regularly vacuum the blinds, this might not be enough. Small stains can be removed using a regular eraser. You can also do a thorough wash: rolled-up blinds should be soaked in warm soapy water for half an hour, and then let them dry thoroughly.

12. Soft Seating
Plants always save the day! But just filling your home with live flowers, neat succulents, or decorative trees is not enough. Use the most unexpected items as pots: start with simple cups, and then follow your imagination.
