Flowers in Interior: 5 Original Ways to Green Your Apartment
Spring is the perfect time to refresh and green up your interior. Current trends, interesting ideas, and bold solutions – all in our today's article
As per tradition, we often place low-maintenance plants on windowsills to decorate the interior. However, this is far from being the only way to green your apartment. Moreover, the more crowded the windowsill is, the less sunlight reaches inside the home. Today we'll tell you how to use houseplants to decorate your space while ensuring no windowsill suffers.
1. Vertical and Container Gardens from Succulents
If cacti always seemed to you something outdated, don't give up the idea of decorating your apartment with a composition made from succulents, as they come in many varieties. Recently, many decorators and florists prefer this group of plants. They are even used in wedding bouquets. Succulents blend beautifully into modern interiors. The key is to compose a harmonious arrangement. Care for such plants requires minimal effort.
To create a miniature garden, you can use a small aquarium, a planter, or even a wooden box from fruit crates. To decorate a wall with a vertical composition, you'll need a slightly more complex structure – a wooden container, onto which a mesh and frame are mounted. Then fill the container with soil and plant the plants. Instead of soil, you can use moss.

2. Spring Bulbs
With the arrival of spring, many stores begin to stock flowering bulb plants in pots. This is a great opportunity to refresh your interior. Fragrant hyacinths, delicate narcissus, and expressive tulips – compositions made from these flowers will create an unforgettable atmosphere. They can be used to decorate a dining table, sideboard, or coffee table.
You can buy already sprouted bulbs or plant them yourself in a pre-prepared container – a vase, planter, several glass tumblers, or decorative bucket. These plants are so charismatic that they will look great even in a simple white plate from IKEA.

3. Miniature Garden
Favorite herbs don't have to be stored in dried form. Rosemary and basil are not only aromatic herbs but also excellent indoor plants. When composing a green arrangement, unify it under one idea. For example, select identical pots and paint them with school board paint. On each pot, you can write the plant name in chalk.
Herbs look great in metal planters or wooden boxes. You can grow almost any edible plant at home: oregano, parsley, dill, onions, mint, spinach, ginger, and even asparagus.

4. Original Planters
If you have chosen a plant, but simply placing it in a flowerpot seems too boring to you, hang the pot upside down from the ceiling by its roots. You can plant almost any plant this way – orchids, spices, vines, and succulents. However, if you want the composition to look stylish rather than like a decorator's mistake, you'll have to invest in special planters.
Thus, you can create not just a standalone arrangement but also compile several inverted planters with a ceiling lamp.

5. Glass Vases and Aquariums
When greening modern interiors, it's important to pay attention not only to the contents of the flower pot but also its shape. The most original solution would be to abandon traditional planters and choose an aquarium or a uniquely shaped glass vase as the container.
An improvised micro-ecosystem inside a glass form is a bright and unconventional accent in interior design. Especially beautiful in such compositions are ferns, mosses, climbing and trailing plants, spring flowers, and succulents. For additional decoration, use natural materials like wood shavings and pebbles, sea stones. Beautiful effects can be created using colored aquarium substrates.
