How to Decorate an Interior in Beige Tones: A Visual Example
Beige color is often criticized for making an interior look lifeless, but in this apartment it became a expressive base for paintings and stylish decor.
This 3-bedroom apartment was decorated in beige tones and Scandinavian style. At first glance, such a combination might seem like the key to creating a typical and lifeless interior, but thanks to the variety of shades, original decor, and natural materials, the design project turned out so expressive that you want to examine every detail of the finishing as closely as possible.
Warm Reception
The stylistic center of this Swedish apartment was the eclectic living room, where a Dutch stove clad in white tiles fit into the Scandinavian finish, while modern paintings brought a contemporary accent to the project.
When decorating the room, designers focused on milky and pastel tones. Wallpaper in beige and white stripes harmonizes with light parquet flooring. A handmade coffee table, knitted textiles, and cream and sand-colored skins bring warm notes to the interior. Contrary to Scandinavian design traditions, white walls can only be seen in the hallway: the apartment's area of 68 square meters allowed for the abandonment of space-visualizing techniques.

New Classic
The kitchen was decorated in the same color palette: buttery wallpaper with a subtle pattern adorned the dining area, and a backsplash above the work surface was tiled in white. The height of the walls allowed for using two materials at once in the finishing—wallpaper and wall panels. In a low room, the horizontal boundary between them can visually reduce space, so it's best to apply this technique cautiously in your own interior. In this Swedish apartment, wooden countertops harmoniously complemented the light parquet floor, and white wall panels with a matte ceiling. White classic-style furniture in the dining area made the interior light and almost 'airy', while a large window without curtains provided an influx of sunlight.

Elegant Accents
To avoid cluttering the small hallway with furniture, open clothing racks were installed here for outerwear. A large floor mirror in a metal frame visually expanded the space. A round soft rug in an oak color not only balanced the strict lines of the hallway but also emphasized the desire of the apartment's owners to make the interior as cozy as possible. Particularly carefully chosen decor was added to the living room and bedroom, with a focus on paintings. The living room was enhanced with abstract canvases, while more suitable for the neutral bedroom were landscapes in blue tones. Much attention was also paid to lighting scenarios: each meaningful zone had its own light source, whether it was a nightstand in the bedroom or original floor lamps near the sofa and above the TV.
