Today we will tell you about Feng Shui rules that, when followed, can increase the level of comfort in your home even without expensive renovation.

Rule #1: There's no place for unnecessary things in the house

Want to improve the flow of energy in your home, reduce stress, and increase productivity? Do a deep clean and fix all broken items. Conduct a fair review of unnecessary things and get rid of them — don't just move them elsewhere, but truly eliminate them or give them to someone who needs them and will happily use them.

It's beneficial to get rid of 'energy clutter' — broken items, unfinished work (like an unwoven sweater), things you haven't used in the past year or up to two years, trinkets that collect dust, and items that evoke unpleasant associations or memories. By doing this, you help the flow of energy, which in turn brings new opportunities.

Rule #2: The entrance to the house should be perfect

The entrance to your home is the first impression of your house or apartment. Make it pleasant to look at: a well-decorated entrance area will attract positive energy into your home. The entrance should be well-lit, clean, and uncluttered. Pay attention to whether the door is clean, if there's an apartment number on it, if the lock and doorbell (intercom) are functional, and if the mat in front of the door is clean.

Rule #3: Mirror in the hallway — next to the door

A mirror should not be placed directly opposite the front door: it may repel favorable energy entering the home. The best place for a mirror in the hallway is on the same wall as the door or to the side of it, so you can see yourself when leaving the house. Preferably full-length mirrors, sized to fit the tallest member of the family.

Rule #4: Don't clutter the living room with furniture

Arrange furniture so that energy flows freely and nothing hinders communication. For example, don't place a sofa or armchair on the path of passage. It's preferable to arrange furniture so that while sitting on a sofa or armchair, you can see the door to the room. To make conversation comfortable and pleasant, try sitting diagonally rather than facing each other.

Rule #5: Bed in the bedroom — diagonally from the entrance

If your bed still stands directly opposite the door, move it closer to a corner diagonally from the entrance: this is the place where the most favorable energy accumulates. Avoid placing the bed's headboard toward a window, as this is too active energy incompatible with sleep function.

There should be no heavy hanging items above or near the bed that create a directed destructive energy flow toward you. Check if you're reflected in mirrors or other reflective surfaces when lying on the bed: such mirror placement may drain your energy. If it's not possible to remove the mirrors, at least cover them at night with fabric: this way nothing will interfere with your energy restoration during sleep.

Rule #6: Choose a dome-shaped bed headboard

The bed headboard should be solid and have a shape that visually does not divide spouses. The headboard symbolizes protection — the stronger and larger it is, the more protected and comfortable your sleep will be.

Avoid triangular or pointed shapes of headboards: they carry overly aggressive and active energy that hinders full recovery of strength. The ideal shape for a headboard is rounded, dome-like, or rectangular. These harmonious forms ensure the necessary stability and calm during sleep.

Rule #7: Get rid of storage under the bed

There should be one large shared mattress on the bed (especially a married couple's bed). Even if you don’t have a partner yet, choose a double bed with one mattress and two pillows. Free space is always filled — it’s a law of nature.

It's preferable that there's free and clean space between the bed and the floor, not storage for things. This prevents energy from stagnating and ensures a continuous supply of favorable energy during sleep.

Rule #8: No sharp angles

Check if the corners of furniture or walls are directed toward you. Do heavy items hang over you when you lie or sit? If yes, try either rearranging the furniture or decorating the sharp corners.

The influence of Feng Shui energy is perceived through our senses, and our mind and vision are the strongest channels of perception. Aggressive angular forms can cause restlessness, while hanging items may create a sense of pressure. All this cumulatively creates psychological discomfort and stress.

Rule #9: The kitchen area should be isolated

The kitchen, dining room, stove, and refrigerator should not be visible from the main entrance. The stove has long been associated with the family hearth, a symbol of family well-being and health. The refrigerator as a storage place for food also represents family prosperity. These important objects should be protected from the view of strangers.

It's preferable to position the stove diagonally from the entrance. Check if you're standing with your back to the door while cooking. If yes, this position will cause psychological discomfort and affect the quality of the food you prepare. If it's not possible to move the stove, hang a mirror behind it so you can see who enters while standing at the stove.

Rule #10: Don't keep broken dishes at home

Get rid of cracked or broken dishes, even if it's your favorite mug. Drinking and eating from such dishes is considered unfavorable, as a broken item carries destructive energy. Moreover, it's unsafe and can cause injury.

Allow yourself to use your holiday dining set every day. Let each meal be a celebration that brings your family together at the table and strengthens family bonds.
