Elegant white apartment in Moscow by Alexander Tishler is a 77 m² two-bedroom apartment carefully re-designed between 2019 and 2020 with regard to the changing lifestyle of its owners. The goal was to create an open kitchen-living room transitioning into a workspace that can be used as a children's room, and also to provide maximum storage space.

Functional Design for Future Lifestyle

The original layout had an unfunctional corridor and a compact guest bathroom. However, Alexander Tishler's team turned these problems into opportunities by redesigning the apartment layout. By removing load-bearing walls, they expanded the space and allowed sunlight from windows on the south side to enter.

Kitchen-Living Room: Clean Lines and Natural Materials

The kitchen was divided into two functional zones. On one side are floor-to-ceiling cabinets housing the refrigerator and various appliances. Opposite is a minimalist zone with sink and stove framed by elegant white stone columns. A specially designed chandelier made of profile lamps at different heights lights up the dining area, adding visual interest.

To soften the monochromatic palette, designers added a soft-textured sofa and bright accent chairs, combining comfort with minimalism.

Workspace with Functional Purpose

The home office is conveniently located to easily transform into a children's room in the future. It lacks a traditional fourth wall and allows for smooth transition to an adjacent pass-through wardrobe. To increase storage capacity, the office entrance door was moved closer to the living room, ensuring better flow and functionality.

For the wall system, American walnut furniture plywood was used—a material chosen for its warmth and tactile pleasure. In case of transformation into a children's room, the space will easily accommodate a crib and maintain sufficient storage for kids' belongings.

Cozy Bedroom

In the bedroom, a wide cabinet with white fronts also serves as a screen for watching movies. The American walnut panel contrasts with the light bed, and gentle lighting highlights the wood texture. Light sources in the ceiling and furniture create a tranquil atmosphere for rest.

Smart Solutions in the Corridor

The corridor was transformed into a spacious wardrobe. It now contains a washing machine, dryer and compact water heater. Due to space redistribution from the office, designers significantly increased storage capacity. A mirrored wall with front lighting visually expands narrow areas, while a suspended shelf adds functionality without extra noise.

Enhanced Guest Bathroom

The guest bathroom was enlarged by taking space from the corridor to add a comfortable shower area. Niches above the toilet and in the shower zone are adorned with contrasting tiles and soft lighting, making this compact space luxurious.

In the main bathroom, the toilet was moved further from the bathtub for better ergonomics. A graphite box with artificial stone and a white sink provide practicality and style.
