A young couple bought this small stone mountain cabin based on a project, but they discovered that the finishing from the construction company was cold and impersonal, so they hired interior designers to fix it.

Mountain Cabin with a Fresh Touch

The interior designer understood how to grasp the desires of the new owners. They aimed to add more mountain and warm atmosphere. Their bet? A combination of soft green and lots of wood.

I Love You (Even More If You)

On the fully renovated kitchen, they chose a moss green color for the cabinets that we will see in various details throughout the cabin. They were enthusiasts of introducing this tone because all windows face green landscapes — a way to bring the outdoors inside.

And It Was Bright

Besides green, the house needed light: so the interior designer opened new windows and expanded existing ones, such as the one above the sofa in the living room, now almost a movie screen where documentaries about Pyrenean nature are always projected.

Creative Ideas

The moss color on the kitchen, together with wood, is the main actress of the house, but they also played with light stone on walls or elements such as a dining bench (next to the kitchen).

Even More Wood

Certainly, another key to the formula of adding rustic style was wood. Wood with stunning finishes on beams like windows and stairs is made from processed pine. On the floor (in the bathroom and kitchen), beautiful natural oak wood with matte lacquer is used.

Wooden Stairs

The stairs keep the same oak as the rest of the house. Just like good ideas, such as a shelf next to the stairs serves for storing dishes or removing the railings on the first flight of stairs, to make the space more light.

Waking Up with Birds

In the bedroom, the sacred trio (moss, light, wood) is preserved and nothing more to keep the relaxed, warm, and enveloping austerity of the whole house. For example, instead of filling the room with furniture, a custom oak shelf supports paintings and several minimalist stools serve as side tables.

Rustic and Modern Bathroom

Here we see the same combination of colors and materials as in the rest of the house. Green mosaic tiles with gray tones and enameled ones stand out, enhancing this rustic moment without losing modernity. Wooden accents help add warmth.

Baumhaus Attic

On the attic, a large oak covering serves as the base for a sofa made with a custom mattress. Here they placed an office. At the desk, we created a window sill that hides cables and installations and serves to support books.

This cabin, besides its beauty and rustic aesthetics, is designed to be functional and organized. That's why it is the ultimate mountain cabin.
