How to Decorate a Baby's Room: Tips from a Real-Life Example
We continue sharing how to design a baby's room. Today, our feature is the room of baby Liberty, whose mother, Katie Richardson, is an interior designer.
Katie is a mother of four, so she definitely knows what it takes to create the most comfortable environment for a newborn.
When designing this nursery, she was actually pregnant with baby Liberty. Her first priority was ensuring the room was bright. To achieve this, she used white as the main color, balanced with green accents, wood elements, and a trendy Moroccan leather pouf.

The second key focus was natural materials. You can see wood, leather, sheepskin, and soft viscose flooring here.

Natural motifs are also reflected in decorative items. One example is a small potted evergreen plant placed near the changing table. Interestingly, the changing table is actually a six-drawer chest of drawers, with an additional box placed on top — exactly where newborns are laid during diaper changes.
Katie intentionally used this setup. Her idea is that once Liberty grows up, the changing box can simply be removed from the chest — practical and convenient!

A rocking chair is provided for the mother, allowing her to sit comfortably while feeding the baby or resting briefly while the newborn sleeps in the crib.

Though not large in size, this nursery feels warm, bright, and full of love, thanks to smart space utilization, light tones, large windows, and the thoughtful use of natural materials.
