Summerhouse Solviken by Johan Sundberg
Summerhouse Solviken is an amazing Scandinavian cottage surrounded by nature in Molle, Sweden. It was designed by Johan Sundberg, an architectural studio whose works have already been in our focus. Check out their projects including Villa Lutingen in Holvik, Sommarhus Akeneine and Villa Leidbyrid in Bederestrand, Trelleborg.
Located on a steep slope overlooking the sea, Summerhouse Solviken is supported by twelve steel pillars that lift the house above the ground and align it with surrounding trees. Its elevated position enhances the stunning views and separates the house from the neighboring street.
A long staircase leads to the house from street level. The main entrance is through a large balcony that spans both sides of the building. The kitchen and living room, as well as one of three bedrooms, can open to the balcony via large sliding glass doors.
Natural hues of the surroundings form the basis for the building's color scheme. Facade boards, balcony railings and visible structural elements are rendered in soft green tones. The facade cladding is painted in a warm natural tone, while the aluminum frames of doors and windows are coated with black powder coating.
