N70 NIU House by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos

The N70 NIU House project emerged from a desire to innovate construction technologies in order to improve the accuracy of architectural implementation. This is a project focused on sustainable development. Designed by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos studio, you will undoubtedly recognize the mastery of this studio, whose works have already been presented in other projects such as House of Sand in Valencia, Aluminum House in Madrid and others.

The NIU project was conceived with an innovative approach to construction, aiming to increase the accuracy of architectural ideas. Adherence to schedules and defined costs improve the quality of the human environment, making it more sustainable and healthy.

In this series of houses, the starting point is a combination of extruded spaces where open parts are windowed. This approach is explored in the works of Jacobsen or Souto de Moura. The working process begins with using aluminum profiles to create models, a system that allows generating an infinite number of combinations. This creates a kind of shallow laboratory where the limits are very clearly defined.

N70 is the smallest variant of the NIU project. Wet zones, where all amenities are located, separate the day zone from the night space.

A new version of a well-known typology that continues to impress us.
