New Conceptual Jewelry Store hug x UMA WANG by ATMOSPHERE Architects

The space is somewhat square, enclosed by walls with gates intersecting the city in a grid pattern. It's Pompeii.

Which was destroyed by Mount Vesuvius and gained immortality for the same reason.

If Pompeii is destruction and restoration of history through design by UMA WANG, then this space attempts to trace that lost civilization through all materials.

This is a tribute to memory, but also a rebirth after reflection on the past.

Metaphor

Serious and minimalist, primitive yet mysterious.

The feeling of history under the ash after 2000 years is conveyed through the circular arrangement of tiles on the floor, interior materials and wooden elements in the space.

In this seriousness light from the ceiling enters the room from above and falls on green plants in the center of the floor, as a metaphor for hope after ruins.

Churches, temples and the majestic atmosphere of an ancient civilization from two thousand years ago are recreated here in a minimalist and restrained combination.

Rebirth

The Pompeii series uses rare fluorescent colors from Uma to restore the shimmer of falling ash and symbolize new life.

The concept of space is also reflected in the design. In the overall simplicity of atmosphere, through a circular space deep inside, a red hue can be seen in the fitting room behind a curtain.

Like a volcanic eruption with red and hot immediacy.

This should be the metaphor of UMA in series, and the collision of colors also adds more layers to the space.

Ascending along the rotating stairs, light changes from dark to bright and the space accordingly transforms.

Revelation

Unlike the primitive and mysterious atmosphere below, on the stairs the space dominated by silver and white suddenly reveals boundaries of perception.

The concept of time and space has a more multidimensional expression here, where feelings collide and intersect, giving the space a unique linguistic system.

The circular and linear steel frame for display is a visual moving line that orderly connects all space.

Pioneering

Since its founding, hug's mission has been to select works by independent designers from around the world - integrating various quality design brands, including Merci Beauty from hug itself.

The application of curved surface elements to a certain degree neutralizes the coldness caused by silver, and the blue hug brand intertwines with it, demonstrating a sense of future and pioneering spirit.

Ahead-of-its-time and neutral, inclusive and spacious.

Not only a modern sense of Western pop culture but also contemporary mindfulness from the East.

The use of zero-reflection film on the ceiling minimizes external noise to focus the space solely on clothing itself, significantly increasing the usage cycle of the space.
