Every homeowner at some point runs out of storage space. The most common solution is to build a shed in the yard. You can use some gable roof shed projects to build your own storage space.

However, your shed doesn't have to be a boring, dark place for storing all your gear. With just a few simple changes, you can transform your wooden shed into a personal sanctuary.
Add a Roof Light to Your Shed
Let natural light illuminate your shed by installing a skylight. This will help you see better inside the shed and also prevent moisture and mold in the shed contents when you leave it locked for extended periods.
Add Shelves and Hooks
You can save a lot of floor space while still safely storing your equipment by installing shelves and hooks on the shed walls. Use limited floor space smartly by adding furniture like chairs and stools. This will give a sense of comfort when you want to spend time alone in your shed. You can also add a lamp, table or even a sofa if there is space.
Install Plants Inside and Outside
Plants and vines will add a natural aesthetic touch to your shed, making it more appealing. Create flower beds near the outer perimeter of the shed. Plant flowering vines around the shed so they can climb up the walls and create a garden-like view. Indoor plants will help clean the air inside your shed. Make sure to water them at least once every three days for their health.
Change the Shed Floor
Make your shed floor more comfortable by installing tiles, carpet or a mat. This will let you take off your shoes and walk barefoot, allowing your feet to relax on the shed floor just like at home.
Install Electrical Lighting
It's important to add enough light sources in your shed. Sheds usually have one interior light source, but since you'll be spending a lot of time in the space, you need more lighting. Add several bulbs above the floor to illuminate the room from all sides. You can also install a dimmer switch so you can control the brightness level. Ensure that you have several lamps to help with reading or pursuing your hobbies.
Add Ventilation
Your shed should have a constant flow of fresh air in and stale air out. Sheds usually install ridge or end vents to achieve this effect. However, since you may spend long periods with the door closed, this won't be sufficient. It's recommended to install an exhaust fan for continuous air circulation inside your shed.
Install a Deck or Awning
Add a deck or balcony in front of the shed to make it look more inviting. This can also serve as an outdoor space where you can just relax and enjoy nature. Install a folding awning so you can be in the shade outdoors, relaxing with a drink or working on a project.
These simple changes will help turn your shed from a regular storage space into an interesting outdoor relaxation spot.
