How to Prepare Your Home for Autumn
Summer is here, and you might be enjoying the warm sunshine, but autumn is coming soon. Temperatures will start to drop and leaves will fall from the trees. It's best to prepare in advance so you can complete necessary tasks and continue enjoying the season. Here are a few things to do to prepare your home for autumn:

Organize Your Space
First, everything needs to be organized. At the end of summer, start putting away summer clothes and think about how to store items – in kitchen cabinets or other parts of the house. You might want to order new storage items.
Children are returning to school soon, so plan your tasks and use the time when they're in class to complete them. School days pass quickly. A good plan will help you get started right away and make the most of those valuable hours.
Thorough Oven Cleaning
No one enjoys a thorough oven cleaning, but now is the time to do it. As it gets colder, you'll spend more time at home and use your oven more often. Let the racks soak a bit and thoroughly clean the inside of the oven. There are many products that make this task easier – don't be afraid!
Declutter
Although cleaning is useful any time of year, you might notice that you no longer wear half of your summer clothes. When stores get their autumn collections, you can buy new clothing that makes some of your items in the wardrobe unnecessary. Now is a good time to donate some items to a charity shop.
If you approach cleaning seriously, you might discover many unnecessary things you want to get rid of. You might want to dispose of old furniture showing signs of wear and take advantage of end-of-summer sales to replace it with fresher pieces. All this may require help from a professional with a truck who can remove your items.
Prepare the Garden
Spending time outdoors will be less pleasant in autumn than in summer. You'll spend more time inside and might forget about the garden, so it's better to prepare it in advance. Mow the grass and treat it in September so that it can survive harsh autumn and winter days.
Check the trees in your garden. Do they need pruning? Not only for cleaning but also because leaves can fall and clog the gutter. This could lead to problems later.
Clean Gutters
The last thing you want is a leak or water damage during bad weather. Clogged drains and gutters can cause such effects, so make sure you clean the gutters. Remove leaves, dirt or other debris. Not sure of your ability? You can hire a professional who can easily reach up there and do what's needed. If you feel confident, make sure your ladder is in good condition. Don't risk your safety on an old creaking ladder!
Autumn is a beloved season, and it's important to prepare for it so that when summer fades, you can relax and enjoy both your home and the season. Welcome autumn in your home with diffusers or scented candles that create smells of musk, wood, or spices. A cup of aromatic powder is another simple way to do this. Let the scents work as you embrace the season.
