A kitchen door is probably the most frequently opened and closed door after the entrance door (and the refrigerator, eh). Therefore, it's important to choose a model that not only looks perfect in the interior but is also highly functional.

If your kitchen is dark, go straight to glass doors so natural light can penetrate inside. This material is also best for connecting spaces and creating a sense of larger space. If you want privacy, hinged or sliding doors with wooden or MDF finish will be most suitable. Want to stay unnoticed? Paint the door in the same shade as the wall. Want to stand out? Paint the door in a different color or use vintage wooden finish typical of rustic decor.

1. WHICH WAY DOES IT OPEN?

Carefully consider where you want it to open (inside or outside), not only for ergonomic reasons but also to avoid large unused corners or collisions with furniture or radiators at the entrance.

If the entry space into the kitchen is large enough, a single hinged door will be insufficient, and you'll need two. They are lighter and more versatile, offering many options.

The final look of the door is chosen based on the overall concept. If you want the doors to fully integrate into the rest of the interior, choose finishes that can be painted or are ready for use. If they should stand out, you have two options: they can match the door color or contrast with it by painting them in a different shade or integrating into the wall tone.

5. PIVOT DOORS

The pivot mechanism keeps walls intact and free from baseboards, thanks to rotation around a vertical axis. It's also useful for dividing the width of a doorway between two spaces. This system allows closing wide openings with one single door, providing visual clarity and simplifying opening.

6. MATERIALS FOR CONSTRUCTION

The simplest option is hollow, with a cardboard corrugated box inside covered by an MDF sheet. They are less sturdy and worse at sound insulation. The strongest, most heat-insulating, heavy, and durable are solid-core doors, which can be made from natural wood, particle board (DSP), or MDF.
