House D10 by Werner Zobek
Werner Zobek completed the House D10 project in Ulm, Germany. This single-family house built in an urban residential area creates about 2000 square feet of minimalist modern living space surrounded by beautifully landscaped exterior areas.

Located near Ulm, Germany, D10 is a single-family home built in an existing residential zone. A private driveway provides access to the house. Two parallel load-bearing walls are a distinctive feature of the building. Generously designed glazing serves to create a spatial shell. A covered terrace, wide and flat roof, surrounding the house connects interior space with exterior. Access to the building is also possible through this terrace.
Residential rooms are located on the first floor, auxiliary rooms are situated in the basement. The building adjoins the north side to a double garage, which can be reached directly from the basement. A staircase in the hall provides entry into the house.
The energy concept ensures that all energy needed for building operation is generated from renewable sources. A geothermal system and highly efficient heat pump provide energy for hot water heating and meet requirements for heating and cooling. The entire roof surface is equipped with a solar system that produces more energy per year on average than the building consumes.
D10 is one of the first buildings in the world where the Triple Zero® concept developed by Werner Zobek has been fully implemented.
