Apartment in Lisbon, Portugal, designed by the architecture firm rar.studio is located in a building from the second half of the 19th century. The renovated interior not only fulfills the owner's wishes but also reflects the historical features of the architecture. The space of three central rooms was equipped as wardrobes with sufficient storage space, maintaining the overall open-plan layout of the apartment. Some parts of the finishing and kitchen furniture, for example, 19th-century tiles, were preserved, but most of the elements required replacement or restoration. The two bathrooms were structurally reworked and finished with Portuguese pink and tiger marble. The architects' work also included installing new lighting, heating, and electrical systems that meet modern needs of the apartment's residents.
