Ho Khue Architects Office in Vietnam
Ho Khue Architects Office in Vietnam
Today, many successful urban dwellers in Vietnam, born and raised in rural areas, still remember cement roofs, low brick walls, and bamboo groves in villages. Surrounded by glass, air conditioning, and monotonous structures, they experience a lack of emotion and timid feelings of detachment. Designed by Ho Khue Architects, their own office is environmentally sustainable and brings its inhabitants back to the past.
Banana trees, yellow bushes, and various plants were transplanted to the first floor of the office. The southwest exposure is built from decorative concrete with slats protecting against harsh sunlight and allowing ocean breeze to flow through. The building's roof is densely planted with grasses and plants to cool the lower floors. To recreate the atmosphere of a countryside home, architects created brick walls, a cement roof, and floors made of decorative concrete tiles.
Working in such a modern office reminds one of childhood and times when life was simpler.
