In the rural area, not far from Bologna, Italy, there is a barn that has been preserved since the 1960s. With the efforts of specialists from Ciclostile Architettura studio, it was transformed into the artist's workshop Francesca Pasquali. The project was named FPA (Francesca Pasquali Archive).
All main rooms and the bathroom are located on the first floor, completely freeing the second level of the building to be dedicated to a bright and open space that lets in the landscape thanks to large openings and high ceilings.
The architects decided to divide the first floor into three sections: two wider rooms serve as a laboratory and office, separated by a service area.
This project is a bright example of how creativity can give new life to an old agricultural building, making it a wonderful workspace with a clear identity, a perfect harmony between art and pragmatism.
